The Peregeine Pedalers are proud to be riding in our seventh PMC this year to support lung cancer research and in honor of Eleanor Robinson, who died January 2, 2022 to this nonsmokers lung cancer after a 5 year battle - read her full obituary here. These rides take on new meaning each year and we will carry her spirt in each pedal stroke. It’s hard to believe that she, a marathon runner, conservation scientist, educator to young and old, music player, chorister, healthy eater, avid birder, epic outdoor adventurer, and never smoker carried cancer, much less non-smokers lung cancer.
The PMC means so much to the Robinson family and community - more than can be shared in this note. Through our fundraising and advocacy work for the PMC, we have formed deep connections with Dana Faber, Dr. Pasi Janne, and those a part of the thoracic oncology department who took Eleanor in as a patient. To date, the Peregine Pedalers have raised nearly $400,000 for research, development, and therapies. This funding goes directly to these incredible doctors, researchers, and staff at Dana Farber extended Eleanor's life and, each day, are actively supporting and saving the lives of moms, dads, sisters, brothers, family members, and friends throughout the country. Through a partnership with PMC, all the funds raised by the Peregrine Pedalers will go directly to Dr. Janne's Dana Farber Non-Small Cell Cancer Research Lab (http://jannelab.org/).
Today we've committed to raising $80,000 and if you are able to, please consider helping us reach our goal and donating to this ride and cause.
Together, let's give cancer the bird. Every donation brings us closer by the mile. Thank you in advance for your generosity, love, support, and donation.
With love and gratitude,
The Peregrine Pedalers
