Team members and friends of Ninety Nine Restaurant and Pub have supported Dana Farber Cancer Institute as Team Lanzoni for well over a decade, raising millions of dollars for cancer research and treatment. Team Lanzoni was named in honor of our Regional Vice President, Dave Lanzoni, a twenty-five-year team member at the Ninety Nine, who lost a short but courageous battle with cancer in 2006. David was a friend, mentor and colleague to many at the Ninety Nine.
Team Lanzoni began when one man, Jim Kiley, decided to run the Falmouth Road Race in David’s honor and raise money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Jim raised $5,000 dollars that first year and the idea for Team Lanzoni was born.
Now in our 18th year, the team has grown to 100+ runners in the Falmouth Road Race and 9+ bikers riding the Pan Mass Challenge all to raise money for Dana Farber. Almost all the runners and riders come from within the Ninety Nine Restaurants.
In November of 2023, we lost another beloved friend and co-worker, Mike Bergeron, to cancer. Not only was Mike a superior Culinary Supervisor for the Ninety Nine, he was an avid supporter of Team Lanzoni's fundraising efforts. It is in his honor that our team will now be known as TEAM BERGERON.
Our team of cyclists will be training, fundraising, and riding together again this year to raise money for Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund, now proudly representing Team Bergeron, the Ninety Nine Restaurant and Pub, and all of our generous sponsors.
