In 2018 I lost my father to cancer. I'll never forget sitting in the doctors office when he got the diagnosis, it's stage 4, it is treatable but not cureable. I've never seen the wind taken out of someones sail so fast. In all the years past I rode for friends of friends, no real strong connection. 2018, the ride was for real, it was for family. We lost our Dad before the ride. For him and our family, he didn't suffer very long. I took a break in 2019 and then 2020 and 2021, COVID. In 2022 my friend, co-worker, SAG driver and best cheerleader, Mike Bergeron was also diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. This year, like all other years i will ride for those who cannot, for those who are batteling this horable decease and for those who have lost. We lost Mike in late 2023, he battled hard and one of the last things he said to me, us riders was "keep riding" for that we honor him by changing our team name from Team Lanzoni to Team Bergeron.
