Looking forward to my third Pan-Mass Challenge (https://www.pmc.org/) in two weeks and I will again be riding 162 miles (~260km for the Saffas out there) from Wellesley to Provincetown on August 5th and 6th. For those of you abroad or not familiar, the PMC's mission is to raise funds for cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston and 100% of every rider-raised dollar goes directly to Dana-Farber. PMC raises more money for charity than any other single event in the US and last week just surpassed $1billion which has been raised since 1980. This success over the years is the result of a lot of people riding for, and caring about, a cure for cancer.
I ride again this year primarily for my Dad and my late father-in-law Jay Kriegel. Jay unfortunately passed from skin cancer in late 2019 and is missed dearly. My old man continues his battle with cancer, is doing remarkably well and has thankfully been in remission for the past few years which has been a huge relief for all of us. I also ride for my other close friends and family: Gray, Ian, Jackie, Rebecca, Liz, Chris, Andrew, Ken, Lisa, Amanda, Dhiveja, Sean, Vanny and others - all of whom either are or have been tackling this terrible disease in one way or another. You are also why I ride!
To all on this email - you have been so generous over the last two years and in total we have collectively raised just over $50k for Dana-Farber - thank you, thank you! This year I have made a personal commitment to raise another $25,000 and hope that I can count on you to help me achieve this significant goal in the two weeks that I have left before race day. I will again also be matching $0.50 on every dollar up to the first $10k. Training this year has been a little slow given how busy I have been and also been so fortunate to have both my brothers out here recently (which is a trade I will make any day) - so no doubt I will be paying for a slow start on the training front come race day!
Appreciate there are many noble causes out there, and a number of you get hit up for PMC from many other friends and family but if you are able to make any donation to my PMC ride. Every dollar counts and no donation is too small. PMC donations are tax deductible and 100% will go to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The PMC's tax ID / EIN is 04-2746912.
Thank you again for taking the time to consider supporting such an amazing cause.
With much appreciation (and much training to do!)
Cheers
Trevor
