Why I Ride ...
My first PMC experience occurred almost 17 years ago in my driveway. Our 3 year old neighbor had been diagnosed with neuroblastoma shortly before Ben and I moved to the town where we still live. Her parents, with whom we shared a driveway, were getting ready to go on a training ride when we stopped to talk with them and they shared their story of riding the PMC. Little did I know at the time that I would develop a passion for biking that would lead me to undertake the same type of endeavor as they did in support of cancer research. The Pan-Massachusetts Challenge (“PMC”) is a 192-mile, two-day bike-a-thon across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to raise money for life-saving cancer research and treatment at Boston’s world-renowned Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Over 5000 riders and 3000 volunteers will participate in this year’s event on August 7 and 8, and because I answered “Yes” to that simple question, I will be one of the them. Why? Because one mile at a time, I hope to help make the world a better place. And with each mile, I hope to be able to use my health to help those who encounter cancer in their lives. Please consider donating to PMC in support of the 192 miles I will be riding from Sturbridge to Bourne, Massachusetts in early August. My goal is to raise $4,300, and every contribution counts. With 100% of rider-raised contributions directly benefiting cancer research and treatment for children and adults, together we can make a difference.
Thank you for helping me go the distance! Your support will be huge motivator for me to keep going - 192 miles to help find a cure for cancer, one mile at a time.
