The fight continues, one mile at a time.
I will ride this year, just as I did last, in memory of Trish (November 18, 1994 - July 3, 2022)
To borrow a few words from my sister...Trish was the most resilient, selfless, beautiful, caring person. She knew how to effortlessly brighten up every room she walked into, making every person feel so special. She was brave, strong, and always found a reason to smile while going through the toughest times.
No one is supposed to leave us so young. Trish spent her 27 years truly making the world a better place, connecting people, reviewing Steve’s work speeches, looking after my sister, and simultaneously showing us what it means to be strong and brave…always fighting with a smile on her face.
I was (and remain) at a complete loss of words. Almost a year ago to date, as we were saying our final “see you later’s” to Trish, I found myself speechless while standing in front of my younger sister, Steve, her parents, brother, family and friends. After a few days of reflecting the reason now seems obvious yet unfulfilling, there truly are no words to convey how much she means to my sister, my family, and all who had the opportunity to spend time with her.
Trish, we are so lucky to have known you and to have had you in our lives. You have left us far too soon but your 27 years here have undoubtedly made the world a better place and we will forever be in your debt for that.
In my continued absence of words, I will be pedaling my way through the miles of PMC weekend with you and your family in mind. Doing what I can, a small part, to join in on the fight against cancer.
To my friends and family, I appreciate you joining me and so many others in the fight against cancer. 100% of your gift will go directly to cancer research at Dana Farber.
