I am riding in the 2024 Pan Mass Challenge in honor of my Mother, Fran Esposto, and so many others we have lost to cancer.
I grew up on two wheels, riding dirt bikes and bicycles that my Mom lovingly gifted to me. I remember in grade school, when I got my first bike, not a hand-me-down, but one to call my own. My mom brought me to the local bike shop to pick out a black and red Haro BMX bike for my birthday that year. I rode that bike so much that summer and many summers after that into my high school years. Whether it was building jumps in the driveway or cruising my friend’s neighborhood, I had endless fun that summer and many years after. I continued my two wheel obsession after college, while living in Chicago. Riding my bike(s) to work, for exercise, to the beach, and even for longer rides in the suburbs or neighboring states.
But no ride will come close the the 162 miles I am set to ride on August 3rd & 4th, and I am doing it for my Mom, who so many years ago gave me the gift of a bicycle. I am so honored that I get to do this, and raise money in her honor to help find a cure for cancer.
Please, if you can, donate to this amazing cause, any amount will help me achieve my goal. Thank you so much!
Rich
