Everything is different this year. On August 1 and 2, Tiffany and I had hoped to be riding in our second Pan-Mass Challenge, an annual bike ride that raises money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. But, like so many things, the two-day event has been cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, the ride has been reimagined as a virtual experience. Our team--called Grateful Living--is still discussing how we might be able to take part safely, from a distance. In the meantime, Tiffany and I have been riding our bikes on a trainer in our living room (terrorizing our dog in the process).
In light of the extraordinary circumstances, the PMC’s fundraising minimum has been waived. But, as we all know, cancer hasn't stopped even as much else in our lives has. To stay safe, we will be riding when we can, how we can. In spite of these challenging times, I’m hoping you will still donate what you can, to my ride or Tiffany’s:

Last year, I rode in honor of my father-in-law, Gary. This year, I ride in his memory. After a long battle with metastatic prostate cancer, Gary passed away on July 23, 2020, surrounded by his family. I will miss him forever. Gary saw the best in the world and everyone in it. Please join me in honoring him or someone you love who has been affected by cancer with a donation of any amount. (In 2019, I tweeted something I love about Gary for every donation; you can read those tweets here.)
Thank you and I hope you all are staying healthy and safe.
