Hello and welcome to my 2024 PMC Profile Page!
I’m signed up to participate in my 8th consecutive Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) Event. In case you don’t know, the PMC is an annual 2-day cycling event that takes place in Massachusetts and raises millions of dollars for cancer research and treatment at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. It typically draws more than 6,000 participants from nearly every U.S. state, as well as 8 to 10 countries. It’s also supported by over 4,000 volunteers!
On August 3rd and 4th, I’ll be cycling 168 miles from Boston to the tip of Cape Cod. Yes, this is a fundraiser, and I know that philanthropy is an extremely personal activity, so if this does not fit with your plans, I completely understand. If you prefer not to receive any future messages from me regarding this event, just let me know. No hard feelings, and I promise that this is the only fundraiser I’m involved with.
Many of us have lost friends or loved ones to cancer and may even know someone who is currently battling this terrible disease. In 2014, my good friend and former colleague, Duncan Finigan was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Despite her diagnosis, over the next 4+ years, Duncan became a courageous advocate for Dana Farber, completed 4 PMC rides, and inspired over 100 family members and friends, including me, to join the cause. As a member of what is now called Team Duncan, I ride each year to honor Duncan, the friends and loved ones who have left us too soon, and those who are bravely battling cancer as we speak.
Through my first 7 PMCs, I've raised over $107K. My goal this year is to eclipse $25K. The PMC guarantees that 100% of every rider-earned donation goes directly to cancer research and treatment at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. I hope you'll consider supporting my participation in the 2024 PMC.
Thanks so much for your consideration!
Cheers!
