I'm a proud supporter of the PMC's mission to beat cancer. Over the past few years, I have been able to see first hand how the funds raised through events like the PMC translate into research and treatments that help patients navigate the unimaginable challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis. 

Since I last completed the PMC two years ago, the devastating impact that a cancer diagnosis can have on a loved one was reinforced through my Uncle Billy's battle with cancer last year. Uncle Bill was a true ray of light and his unfortunate diagnosis of neuroendocrine prostate cancer helped to shine a light on an area of prostate cancer that evades current standard of care testing and is refractory to most treatments. 

This year's PMC is particularly important given the drastic reductions in federal funding for cancer reserach. The funds we raise through the PMC will faciliate the continued work of the scienctists and physicians at Dana Farber to avoid delays which could cost patients their lives.
