Welcome to my PMC fundraising page!
With the Pan-Mass Challenge on the horizon this August, my heart is filled with a blend of anticipation and deep reflection. The essence of my ride is twofold: a loving tribute to my father, Jerry Osher, in honor of the 5th anniversary of his passing, and a steadfast commitment to contribute to the fight against cancer.
My father’s memory is a beacon guiding me on this 192-mile trek from Sturbridge to the Provincetown Inn. Cape Cod, our final destination, holds a treasure trove of cherished family memories, a happy place for our family. Riding through these landscapes that my father adored, I’m not just covering miles; I’m reconnecting with his spirit, honoring his values of family, community, and kindness, and perpetuating his legacy of generosity and warmth.
But why I ride extends beyond personal tribute; it’s a call to action against a disease that has touched us all. The PMC is more than a bike-a-thon; it’s a lifeline for cancer research and patient care at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. With each donation, we’re not just hoping for a future free from cancer; we’re actively working towards it. This year, as the PMC inches closer to surpassing $1 billion raised since its inception, I’m reminded of the impact our collective efforts can have.
I ride because I believe in the power of action, the strength of community, and the possibility of a world without cancer. This challenge allows me to honor those we’ve lost, support those who are fighting, and celebrate the survivors. By carrying the names of your loved ones affected by cancer on ribbons, I extend my ride to include your stories, your battles, and your triumphs.
Join me (and Jon Reifer and Jason Osher) in this journey by contributing to our fundraising goal of over $18,000. No amount is too small; every donation propels us forward towards our goal. Donate above to make a difference. If there’s a special someone you’d like to honor, please share their name with your contribution, and I will proudly carry it with me, every mile of the way.
Together, we ride towards hope, healing, and a future free from cancer. Thank you for your unwavering support and for being an integral part of “Why I Ride.”
With deepest gratitude and hope,
Erica
