Dear Friends

This year is going to be my 7th consecutive PanMass Challenge and a rather special one.

Over the first weekend in August, the 2nd and 3rd, I will ride the longest, 200 mile route, in memory of a dear friend and former colleague, Brenda Lord.

On Wednesday, January 15th of this year, Brenda passed away after her fierce and graceful 3-year battle with glioblastoma. During that time she was cared for by the incredible team at Dana-Farber. In Brenda’s usual tenacious and selfless way she was committed to pushing the boundaries of medicine and was treated by the team through numerous clinical trials, focused on helping future glioblastoma patients. I worked alongside Brenda for many years at the Staples organization and my life was richer for it: her passion, care, grit and grace touched not just my life but countless others inside and outside of work. I miss her.

With the support and blessing of Brenda’s husband, Rich, I will be honoring her memory in my own, small way by riding to raise as many dollars as I possible can to support the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s tireless commitment to finding a cure and to thank them for their support of Brenda.

Your personal support for and generosity toward this special ride for Brenda and the Dana-Farber team will make a huge difference. Every cent I raise goes to funding future research.
