Why I Ride ...
Do you know that 100% of every rider-raised dollar directly supports lifesaving cancer research and treatment? That's impressive and I hope comforting to you as a prospective donor.
As you contemplate my ask for your support please this. My cancer story will follow but I'd like to share my athlete story with you. I swim, ride, and run becuase I am grateful and because I can. I can for those who can't, for those who want to, and for those I can inspire to live their best life. We are not all athletes but we all do our best to give and inspire by example, to make our world a better place for all. I chose sport for my endeavor and I hope it inspires you.
I am a 13 year survivor of primary peritoneal cancer, a rare form of ovarian cancer. My staging at diagnosis was 3c meaning I had a 20% 5 year survival rate. I am so grateful that I am celebrating 13 years of living beyond cancer. That's why I ride. I ride to feel the wind whiz by me as I focus on the road ahead with it's twist and turns, climbs and glides, becoming exhilerated with the cadence of my peddling. I ride for you, for yours and our loved ones, and for a cure.
Please support me and the thousands of people affected by cancer. With you support let's take this ride together to cure cancer. I'll peddle and promise to embrace your gift with gratefulness supporting those who are not be able to ride. I appreciate your consideration and your gift. We got this!
