Why I Ride ...
This year will be my 15th PMC ride! After riding it for the first time in 2011, my father turned to me and said “This is going to be your thing”. I guess he was right, and it has become his thing too. I'm hoping Dad will be there volunteering for his 15th PMC as well! Mike will be riding his 12th PMC! And Kailah will be riding her 10th PMC! Johnny may be rowing that weekend, or hopefully volunteering with Dad!
My dad and I now always look forward to our August weekend together at this PMC event, with my riding and his volunteering, usually at the parking venue at the finish line for the first day. It is such a fantastic moment when I arrive in Bourne and see him there waiting for me. I know it is very emotional for him. This is something we do together in memory of my mother, but this year we will also be participating in honor of my mother-in-law who has started her battle with breast cancer.
I also ride in honor of our friends and family who are currently battling cancer... as they ride down the road to recovery.
