Last year during the pandemic, I raised $3,450 with your help! It was incredible and I was so thankful for your support. This year I am planning to ride again in the Pan-Mass Challenge...Texas Style! I am not going to Massachusetts because this year is STILL different! The health and safety implications of the global pandemic mean that instead of 7,000 riders and 4,000 volunteers gathering together, the Pan-Mass Challenge will still be re-imagined. So my teammates will be riding in Massachusetts on August 7th and 8th, but the logistics of the ride are still disrupted.
And yet CANCER REMAINS!!! So the PMC isn’t taking 2021 off and neither am I. In fact, our commitment to the mission of funding cancer research and care at Dana-Farber is more critical than ever. The pandemic brought significant challenges to Dana-Farber – carrying out research and treating immunocompromised cancer patients has become more challenging and costly – and their revenues are shrinking considerably. So to help out and raise funds for this organization I will ride my own reimagined PMC in Texas once again. On August 7 and 8, my reimagined course will take me 166 miles over two days. I plan to ride 100 miles on the first day to signify the challenge of riding a century - in the hopes that 100 years from now, cancer will be treatable. The 66 miles reflect the age my uncle would have been this year if he had not died from testicular cancer in 1996. His story and the millions of others who have experienced cancer are all the encouragement I need. This is my small way of raising funds and awareness for others dealing with cancer.
Your donation last year pushed the total fundraising effort of the PMC to $50 million!!!! I've made a personal commitment to raise $2000 and I hope you can help me reach this important goal. I appreciate that the economic fallout has impacted everyone differently. If you can give, please do so. If you cannot this year, I understand. And if you have the capacity to give a little more than you might normally, your generosity will make a tremendous difference this year. Any support you can provide will sustain me through this effort!!
I hope you can help me achieve this significant goal. Your support last year was overwhelming to me in so many ways. Many of us have been touched by cancer, as its various manifestations continue to claim the lives of millions every year. Please consider supporting my ride, in any amount you wish, and help raise money to help those diagnosed with cancer.
100 percent of every dollar donated supports Dana-Farber’s world-class research and care.
Thank you for bringing us closer by the mile!
Thank you,
Andy Meyer

I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure.
