Bill Veno is riding in his 15th Pan-Mass Challenge in 2025 – and I am humbly asking for your support!
This year’s 2025 Pan-Mass Challenge will be my 15th consecutive ride since doing my first PMC in 2011. This year I have committed to complete the two-day, 190 mile route from Sturbridge. MA to Provincetown on August 2 and 3. I have started my training and this year I hope to avoid the ‘hiccups’ I experienced before my ride in each the last two years, with a knee injury in 2023 and the crash I had in 2024, both of which adversely affected my training.
It has always been my great privilege to represent you when I set out on my PMC rides, and this year I will be joining more than 6,800 other riders who will participate in one of the many different routes riders may choose in this year’s 46th annual Pan-Mass Challenge. I am again asking for your help in sponsoring my ride in support of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s vital work in cancer research and the extraordinary care that DFCI doctors, nurses, and staff provide to those who are fighting their personal battles with this insidious disease.
I am truly blessed to be physically able to do this ride at age 79, joining the many other riders who are committed to making a difference in the fight against cancer. I train very hard to do my very best and I dedicate this ride to you, your loved ones and friends, and to those who are unable to ride.
Many of you have journeyed with me on my 14 previous rides and have generously supported Dana-Farber’s cancer research and treatment efforts to beat cancer. As I prepare for this year’s ride, I am deeply saddened by the dear friends and family members who, in the past year, have lost their battles with cancer. The number of those who are fighting their personal battles with cancer grows every year, which makes the research and treatment work of Dana-Farber so very important to all of us.
This year I am again proud to ride for the eighth time as a member of ‘Team Duncan,’ which is comprised of members of Dana-Farber’s Women’s Oncology team of doctors, nurses, hospital staff, ‘living proof’ cancer survivors and their families – and regular people like me. As always, 100% of every dollar donated to the PMC will go directly to support the important cancer research and treatment work of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
My sincere thanks to you on behalf of all those who will be helped by your generosity, in memory of all our friends and family members who have fought and who are fighting ongoing battles with cancer. Every mile brings us closer to a cure!
Bill
