On the first weekend in August, I will join thousands of cyclists in the Pan Mass Challenge, an annual bike-a-thon that raises money for research and care at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.
I've always loved biking whether it was going to my local swim and tennis club (Greenwood), cruising to Eriksons for an ice cream, or making the long journey from Freeport, ME to Quebec City in 5th grade with my good buddy, Rylan. After moving back to Boston last September for work, I knew the PMC would be an awesome way to raise money for a great cause!
This summer, I'll be riding for my late Grandmother, Annette Tarini, who was a 40-year breast cancer survivor after being diagnosed with it in the 1970s. My goal is to ride 160 miles and raise $6,000 in her memory.
The PMC raises more money for charity than any other single event in the country - $972 million since 1980 and a record $72 million in 2023 alone! In 2024, the PMC is positioned to cross a monumental $1 billion in cumulative fundraising for Dana-Farber. This success is the result of a lot of people riding for and caring about a cure. And because every dollar matters, 100 percent of your donation goes to Dana-Farber.
Thank you very much for any support you are able to provide.
