Why I Ride ...
As you know I have been a big supporter in the fight against cancer. I have lost my mother and father-in-law as well as several friends to cancer. On May 2008 my God son heard the worst news ever... your son Ethan (who was 5 at the time) has cancer. But thanks to the treatments that were available and the bone marrow transplant by his younger brother (Eliot) Ethan is still cancer free. If it was not for the treatments being available Ethan as well as many other family & friends would no longer be with us. The research that goes into discovering new ways to fight cancer cost money and that is why I am reaching out to you. I need your help to sponsor my Reimagine Ride for the Pan Mass Challenge. I will be staying home and on the first weekend in August I will be doing back to back 50 mile rides.
I ran in a lot of races over the years, as well as participating in the American Cancer's Relay for Life and have been able to raise a lot of money to go toward the fight against cancer, But my knees have told me to give them a break and look for some other way to raise money. So in 2012 I decided to step it up and take on a bigger challenge. And that is what I am asking you to do. I know times are tough with the economy, but I am sure you have been touched in some way by cancer.
One of the main reasons I am supporting the Pan Mass Challenge (PMC) is because not only is it leading a charge to beat cancer, but the best news is that 100% of the rider-raised revenue goes directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure. So every dollar you are able to donate goes directly into our fight against cancer. So please make a donation big or small, whatever you can afford by clicking on the below donation button or by sending a check to me made out to PMC.
Thank you so much in advance for your donation and your support, it really means a lot to me. I will keep you posted on my butt sore journey, as I start my training on May 9th the day my Mom died of cancer. Thanks again and take care, Walt
