Dear family, friends and colleagues,
As many of you know, I have been riding in the PanMass Challenge (PMC) for many years, given several family members and close friends being diagnosed with cancer. Since last years ride, we have unfortunately lost another dear friend. I cannot imagine how horrible it is to watch a loved one pass away in front of you, and equally, I cannot imagine how horrible the cancer treatments themselves must be, so the least I can do is endure a numb ass over the course of almost 100 miles in a day. I have therefore decided to ride again to raise funds to fight the battle on cancer. My ride will include the following individuals that mean so much to me, and I know many of you as well.
In Memoriam for those we have lost:
- George & Cynthia Abely
- Timmy Bourke
- Ron Dean
- Ed Markham
- Jim Pettit
- Danika Shick
- Kristen Pratt-Ward
In Honor for those that have fought and those still fighting:
- Cobery Family - Tommy, Betty, Christy and Shannon
- Nina Daksha
- Sharon Dean
- Sheila Gilet
- Marianne Hannon
- Melody Jean
- Steve Kozsan
- Dave Markham
- Monique Perkins
- Billy Picken
I will again ride the first weekend in August with more than 5,500 other cyclists in the PMC, from Wellesley to Bourne. 100% of money raised will go to research and care at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DCFI) in Boston. I will ride on Team PwC, which has been supporting this cause for almost 15 years.
I've made a personal commitment to raise $4,000. I hope you can help me achieve this goal with any donation amount, and more importantly, to let those on my list above know you are doing this on their behalf.
You can donate at the link below (my donation number is WG0035). To learn more about the PMC, please visit pmc.org. Thank you for your support!
