Spring is here and I started training for yet another PMC - and this is my 9th ride!
I decided to ride again in support of my captain living iwth cancer and to continue Abe's legacy - he rode PMC 3 times and this year I will be riding 3x3!
On Saturday August 2, I will ride from Wellesley to Bourne for a total of 85 miles. This year will be my eight year riding with the Team Heidi's Heroes. Our team goal is to further research in pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute by raising funds for Dr. Chan’s research lab and to bring awareness to the general public about this cancer.
The research is on the brink of developing treatments that extend productive, enjoyable life. Our relentless team captain, Heidi, has been living with this cancer and has benefitted from recent developments in treatment which slow the disase progression. Presently there is no cure for either type of pancreatic cancer. Our team is committed to do everything in our power to push research in this cancer forward. Would you help us in this endeavor?
The PMC has had tremendous impact on the work that we do here related to neuroendocrine tumors, said Dr. Chan. The PMC is really a true source of inspiration for me. ... It makes me feel like the work we're doing is worthwhile and impacts so many people beyond the patients who are walking through the doors.

My fundraising goal is $5000. Although this is an ambitious goal, I know that you will help me in making a difference in the lives of cancer patients. No amount is too small. Donations are tax deductible and may be made online to me at www.pmc.org/VV0013 or to the Team Heidi's Heroes. I have until October 1st to complete my fundraising efforts.
If you prefer to write a check, please make it out to the PMC, The Jimmy Fund of Dana Farber Cancer institute and mail it to me:
