PANMASS - Century 2025!

I can’t believe it, but this year will be my 13th year riding! This year I will ride the one day from Babson. My son is riding the 2 day from Sturbridge and willl meet me at lunch and the end!  Years 8-10 I rode the 2 day with my son when my husband was diagnosed and for 2 other years I also rode w Jen who was diagnosed 13 years ago and reeceived great news a year ago!! I thought that as I reached a new decade it would be my last, but it is karma for all of those I know to continue riding. The image is at Mass Maritime riding in the rain with my son, Chris.

Since I started to ride for my daughter, Jen, so many more friends and colleagues have been affected, and learned to fight and live with cancer. I ride for you all. If you see us out on practice rides - give a shout!

Over a decade ago it was the least I could do to give back to Dana Farber after my daughter was diagnosed and began her twelve years of continuous treatment for cancer. As is the case for too many, the treatments are harsh and the side effects can oftentimes be just as tough on your body as on your soul. Jen is truly one of the gutsiest and grittiest persons I have ever met. She has taught us how to deal with pain. Most importantly, she lives life and challenges living constantly and I am convinced that she is alive because of Dana Farber and the type of care that she receives from the entire research and clinical team. I mean who gets on a plane with their skis and their oxygen! She is a role model for the guttsiness that is required to win. Your donation helps keep this level of treatment and care for Jen and for more just like her.

This past year my sister was diagnosed and  is being treated at DF. So this will be my LAST year as I ride in my seventh decade..

So for my 13th year I remain riding.

I will join almost 7,000 cyclists in the PMC ride with a goal of raising over $60 million for research and care at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Mass. This success is the result of a lot of people riding for, and caring about, a cure. And because every penny matters, 100 percent of your donation goes to DFCI. I've made a personal commitment to ride and raise $2,000. I hope you can help me achieve this significant goal. The expression no amount is too small is so true!
