In memory of my sister Debbie, I'm training for PMC ride # 8 with Gratitude!
Every pedal, every mile, every challenge - it all comes together for one cause - curing cancer.
I am lucky to be able to ride this year- my motto " Fall down get back up! "
Many thanks for family, friends and #laheytraumateam and my FLAMES teammates who helped me recover from a fall - I'm back and ready to go wheee.... down the hills again!
(with all safety precautions- I'm not going to wear the suggested motorcycle helmet).
My sister Debbie who passed from ovarian cancer, would have told me to get back on my bike. Her will to live, love of family & friends and her remarkable resilience contiue to inspire me to raise funds for cancer research - we need more cures!
That's why I ride the PMC - knowing that cancer research can change patient outcomes for the better.
Not to mention my improved personal health from training and the fun I have with my FLAMES team - Fast Legs and Minds to End Suffering. Together we can make a difference.
Please consider a donation to Dana Farber to support cancer research!
With Gratitude,
Valena
