On August 2nd and 3rd, we will participate in our 31st Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC), a bike ride across Massachusetts, to raise money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI). Last year, the PMC reached the $1 billion mark since its inception. 100% of rider raised funds go directly to cancer research and treatment. Progress is being made, but there is still more to do.

This 31st PMC is in memory of our nephew, Conor, who died of leukemia in 2017 and for Virginia’s dad, Tom, who died one year ago from esophageal cancer. We ride with the hope of one day eradicating cancer or making it a manageable, rather than life threatening, disease.

Our team’s pedal partner is Declan Vail, a 9 y.o. boy diagnosed 6 years ago with a brain tumor. He endured 18 months of chemo and 3 brain surgeries and his tumor has stabilized for now. Our fundraising will be directed to the BrainStorm for a Cure Fund, researching the FGFR1 gene, which caused Declan’s tumor, to find an effective treatment.
