On the first weekend in August, I’ve committed to join 6,500 cyclists in the 2018 Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) bike ride, a 2-day annual bike-a-thon that raises money for cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) in Boston. The PMC holds the promise of helping eradicate this disease which affects millions each year. This spectacular event raised more than $50 million last year by donating 100% of all rider raised funds to the DFCI.
I will be riding a 163-mile route from Wellesley to Provincetown in memory of the people we have lost to cancer, including my father and grandmother, Ilia Polena & Ollga Luarasi, and help make a difference in supporting the survivors, the fighters and the ones out there trying to find a cure.
