WHY I RIDE ...
With a deep thank you to all my supporters, I am totally committed for my year 12 ride of the Pan-Mass Challenge, August 2 and 3 to help eradicate cancer from this world!! I will be on my bike, along with my sister Jody and the rest of the A Street Hospitality team and 6,000 other riders--all aided by 4,000 volunteers--cycling 200 miles in two days from Sturbridge to Provincetown, rain or shine. I ride for my beloved mother Po, father Tom, sister Eliza, and two cousins, Tani and David, and many friends, now all gone from this world due to cancer. I ride for all those dealing with cancer now, in the past, and in the future, aiming for fewer people to suffer, and someday none. To highlight the importance of the PMC – it is Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s single largest supporter and is more than 60 percent of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue. Each year, I carry more stories, both personal and of those I don’t know, facing cancer with immense bravery and love of life. So I keep riding because the need is so huge for the essential and pioneering cancer research and care that the Pan-Mass Challenge helps make possible at Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund. Train train train will be the next months. The PMC empowers all participants in making a major difference in cancer research and care, and the thank you for riding echoing in riders' ears is sweet music that we can do it!
In 14 years, together with our supporters, our team has raised over $1.5 million which went directly to Dana-Farber!! Since 1980, PMC altogether has raised over $One Billion for adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber. 100% of rider-raised revenue goes directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
On this Year 12 of riding, plus 3 years of volunteering, I am envisioning a world without cancer. Please help make this possible and donate to my ride!
