On Saturday and Sunday, August 3rd and 4th, TEAM TROOPER TESTED will join approximately 6,000 riders and pedalall the way to Provincetown in the Pan-Mass Challenge with the single purpose of helping people with cancer. The PMC, in its forty-fifth year, provides an arena where we can unite strongly in our battle against cancer. Since its inception in 1980, the PMC has raised over One (1) Billion (yes, with a B) dollars for the Jimmy Fund, which is the fundraising arm of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
TEAM TROOPER TESTED is comprised of StateTroopers of the Massachusetts State Police.
We all have our own reasons for riding in the PMC - bonded by an attainable goal of a world without cancer. Collectively, we will ride to support family members, friends and members of the general public in each of their courageous battles against cancer. We will also be riding for the advancement of innovative cancer research, treatment, care and prevention. Further, we will ride in appreciation and support for the doctors, researchers and staff at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Most importantly, we will ride to take an awesome stand against an awful disease that does not discriminate and has taken too many lives, prematurely. The fight against cancer is personal. Each Trooper riding on our team is significantly invested in the fight against cancer. Most of our team has an immediate loved one that has been seriously impacted by cancer.

TEAM TROOPER TESTED
Dear friend, February 2008
Our mission is clear. On Saturday and Sunday, August 2nd and 3rd, TEAM TROOPER TESTED will join over 4,000 riders and pedal 192 miles from Sturbridge to Provincetown in the Pan - Mass Challenge with the single purpose of helping people with cancer.
TEAM TROOPER TESTED has been forged from the commitment of twelve sworn members, Troopers, of the Massachusetts State Police. Troopers on the team have their own reasons for riding in the PMC bonded by an attainable goal of a world without cancer. (You can read our team's profile and story at www.pmc.org.) Troopers riding on our team include Lt. William Coulter, Detective Lt. Bill Christiansen, Tpr Mary McCauley, Tpr Brian O'Riordan, Tpr Thomas Mahon, Tpr Dan Herman, Tpr Dennis Keeler, Tpr Kathryn Downey, Tpr Andrew Tobin, Tpr Scott Cooper, Tpr Corey Dahlstedt and Tpr Michael Bartucca. Collectively, our team will ride in support of fellow Troopers, family members, friends and members of the general public and honor of their courageous battles against cancer. The fight against cancer is personal!
Each Trooper riding on our team is significantly invested in the fight against cancer. Most of our team has an immediate loved one that has been seriously impacted by cancer. Financially, every Trooper on our team has committed $4,000 dollars of their own money for the sake of securing a spot in this amazing event. As a team, we have collectively committed $48,000 dollars of our own money for cancer research. The fundraising goal of our team is to match this amount and raise even more money for research. In order to make this ride a success we need your help. TEAM TROOPER TESTED asks you to please consider making a 100% tax deductible donation toward our fundraising efforts. In lieu of a monetary donation, you can also donate a tangible good or service (also 100% tax deductible) that will be raffled off or bid upon in a silent auction during one of our team's fundraising events. Any contribution, small or large, will be sincerely appreciated and will help our team a great deal. YOU CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE!!!
The PMC, in its twenty-ninth year, provides an arena where we can unite strongly in our battle against cancer. In 2007, PMC riders collectively raised, a 'record breaking' $33 million dollars for the Jimmy Fund, the fundraising arm of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Last year, 100% of every rider raised dollar went directly to cancer research and care at Dana-Farber which has earned the designation as one of the world's premiere Comprehensive Cancer Centers. Dana-Farber's Jimmy Fund Clinic is one of the world's best centers for pediatric cancer research and treatment and is part of a medical complex that has made enormous inroads in the treatment of adult cancers as well. Since its inception in 1980, the PMC has raised over $200 million dollars for the Jimmy Fund. Dr. Edward Benz Jr. MD, President of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, has stated many times that when we finally write the book, titled How Cancer Was Cured, the PMC will be in the first chapter!
