We are riding together because of a shared love of Aaron Pinsky.
Aaron Pinsky passed away on February 13, 2010 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Aaron was 23 when he was diagnosed, and in the following 2 years, he faced his condition with a degree of poise, courage, and self-awareness that inspired everyone he met - from his doctors, to his friends, to his family.
In his honor, a collection of his college friends, high school friends, fiance, and their familes will be riding the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) together as "Team Pinsky".
The PMC is a two day, 192 mile bike ride across Massachusetts. We ride 111 miles from Sturbridge to Bourne on Saturday, then another 81 miles across Cap Cod on Sunday to finish in Provincetown.
The PMC raises money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where Pinsky received his treatment. Since its 1980 inception, the PMC has contributed $270 million to cancer research and treatment, and since 2007, the PMC has donated 100% of all rider-raised dollars directly to Dana-Farber.
Sincerely,
Team Pinsky (Ellie Schmidt, Adam Ain, Geoff O'Donoghue, Alex Smith, Mary Singer, Gillian McBride, Adrienne Boardman, Andrew Boardman, Will Schmidt, Eoin Byrne, Elizabeth Doran, Christina Doran, Mary O'Donoghue, and Karl Mentz, Sara Deveaux)
