PMC 2024 Team Guts and Gore
This marks the 8th year of Debbie DeMarco and Joel Gore riding as a team: Guts and Gore. Merdith Gore joined us in 2022. The first weekend in August will be PMC ride # 14 for Debbie and # 8 for Joel. In 2021 we said we weren’t going to ride any more but we couldn’t give it up. We did the 1-day rides in 2022 and 2023 but this year Joels' older daughter and teammate Meredith, asked us to do the 2-day ride which she has never done so we are doing it! It's just so hard to give up this amazing event. Although Joel’s lymphoma remains active and requires treatment he is not letting anything stop him. We are excited to train and ride together again in this incredible event and unfortunately more of our friends are fighting the fight against cancer.
100% of rider-raised revenue goes directly to support the Dana Farber Cancer Center's tireless commitment to finding a cure. Funding from this event is more important than ever before.
We are looking forward to a successful ride in 2024. We ride in honor of friends and family living through their journey of diagnosis, chemotherapy, surveillance scanxiety and enjoying life to the fullest. We feel lucky to be healthy enough to ride together in this great event although sadly, we had to add a few more friends to the growing list of those living with cancer.
