Thank you for taking a moment to read my story and become familiar with why I ride the PMC!!! We all have stories related to the dreaded disease and how it has taken so many of our loved ones, so I really appreciate you visiting my site and I hope you consider donating to the fight against cancer. 100% of your donation, goes directly to Cancer research and the development of ways to cure cancer!
In the past my reasons for riding the Pan Mass-Challenge would be to honor a fallen friend, co-worker, or family member. Someone who lost the battle with cancer but still makes an impact on my life every day. We all have stories of someone who fits this description, don’t we? My PMC journey always starts with my parents who lost their battle with cancer over 30 years ago and the story continues with so many more people to mention...
This year, I selfishly ride for Samantha and Lilliana, my two daughters. I ride for them, hoping for a cure in their lifetime so they do not lose loved ones in the future. I ride for them so perhaps they won’t have to suffer the physical and mental challenges of battling the disease. I ride for them, their friends, their classmates and all the children and future generations, can we get closer to the cure for them?
I will always ride for Jill Jones and family, Cindy Holroyd King and her husband Bill King, Austin Capone and family, my mom Mary and my father Maurice and the many others, from friends, co-workers, former bosses, and people I don’t even know. People I do not know, like the young girl at my daughter’s swim class, who has lost all her hair due to ongoing treatments. How about the mom that finds the strength to take care of her kids while she is battling breast cancer. How about the dad who always supports his children despite being so tired of his fight. What about the grandparents who always spoil their grandkids while knowing they may lose their battle. These people have shown courage, strength, dignity, and resilience as they continue to go about fighting the battle and trying to enjoy the life they have, I ride for all of them.
Thank you to the people who volunteer or choose a profession based on helping cancer patients survive or remain comfortable while they fight…. Doctors, nurses, home health aides or anyone who brightens the day of a person fighting to stay alive or fighting to beat cancer, you, are much appreciated, thank you for what you do!!!
We are all in this together and it is time we all kick cancer’s ASS.
Thank you again for taking the time to read my story and I wish you all the very best!!!!
Please consider donating…
Sincerely,
Tom Foley
