Hello! Thanks for visiting the PMC page of Team Evan. For the seventh year, we are riding the PMC in honor of Evan Schumacher, our brother, our friend.
Evan died from bile duct cancer in 2015. He was 46. Evan was an amazing husband, father, son, friend, relative - and brother. He died far, far too soon, and he is missed by so many. Evan fought his disease with everything he had, for 19 hard months. He was so sure that the next treatment, the next trial, would save him - all he needed to do was hang on. Evan ran out of time. But others CAN be saved.
We're trying to do our part to help. The traditional PMC ride was canceled in 2020, but we planned our own PMC ride, cycling more than 40 miles around metrowest Boston, including a stop to see Suzanne and the kids. To date, our little team has raised more than $250,000 to fight gastrointestinal cancers. Evan's spirit carried us every mile.
Team Evan is comprised of an incredible group of family and friends: Doug Brooks, who knew Evan for 35 years. Larry Ring, a longtime close friend and colleague. And Cory Flashner, Evan's longtime friend from Needham.
Evan would have loved this team.
Please honor Evan's memory by donating whatever you can to the team. And click on his picture to see a photo gallery. Thank you!
