Hello and welcome to my page! My name is Tatum Burek and I am from Chicago, IL entering my senior year in College. I learned about the ride through friends at school and was drawn to the event due to the large amount of money they raise for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. One of these friends would babysit a boy named Declan. Declan is currently 7 years old but was diagnosed with a pediatric low grade glioma in March of 2019. So far Declan has had 3 brain surgeries, gone through 18 months of chemotherapy, multiple MRIs, and has had over 500 seizures. No kid should have to go through this. I was lucky enough to spend time with Declan last summer and was inspired to participate in the event.

With this, I am fundraising under a team founded by Declan's parents, Team Brainstorm. Our team rides in honor of Declan, as well as other children with Pediatric Low Grade Gliomas, especially ones with an FGFR1 mutation. Our funds are put into the Declan Vail BrainStorms for a Cure fund, and 100% of money we raise go to Bando Labs at Dana Farber. Dr. Mimi Bandopadhayay.
