I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure.
In September of 2022, when my kids were just 3 and 6 years old, I was diagnosed with HER2 positive breast cancer. I was 39 years old. Over the course of a year, I was treated with chemotherapy, targeted therapies and surgery. And in the midst of that year, I rode in my first Pan Mass Challenge. With only four months to train, I went from recovering from chemo and surgery, to riding across Cape Cod with my mom, my doctor, and Team Duncan.
Being a part of this team has changed the way I have experienced this disease, and has allowed me to particpate in raising funds that go towards ground-breaking research, while being a participant in multiple research studies myself.
This year, cancer free, with all of the hard things behind me, I'm choosing to ride BOTH days, 162 miles, toward a cure. I can't wait to partipate in helping the PMC cross the BILLION DOLLAR fundraising mark, and help Team Duncan raise another million dollars!
Please consider donating to my ride and to Dana Farber. Team Duncan supports the Breast Cancer Research Fund (BCRF) at Dana Farber and all of your gifts will go directly to supporting breast cancer research. Everyone with a cancer diagnosis deserves the cutting edge care and treatment I received.
