Here we go again! Supporting Dana Farber feels so good, it has helped me forget the pain!
I am sure at 5 am when I am riding over the Bourne Bridge on Day 2, it will hit me hard, but until then, thank you PMC for motivating me to make a difference in the fight against cancer.
I am proud to be riding and supporting the Pan Mass Challenge for the SECOND time in recognition for those whose lives have been altered by cancer. I will forever be inspired by the strength shown by my sister in-law Lynne Trocchi Sullivan who lost her cancer battle at 56 and so many others like our good friend John Discepoli who is currently fighting for time.
This year, I will be riding with Lynne’s husband, Kevin Sullivan, their daughter Abigail, my daughter Rachel and my sister in-law Nancy Belanger. I will also be sharing my fundraising efforts my good friend Nancy Laughlin and my brother Tom Ayers. We so appreciate whatever support you can share so we can all partner towards a cancer free goal.
Last year, our small group raised over $35,000. Our larger biking team, Team Lick Cancer brought that number to $1 million. The PMC total for 2018 was $58 million, written directly to Dana-Farber! We all have to hope that $58 million can make an impact in a fight that affects all of us.
My goal this year is to raise $5,000.00. Donations are tax deductible and may be made online. If you prefer to write a check, please make it out to the PMC or Dana Farber Cancer Institute and mail it directly to me, so I may forward.
If your employer has a matching gift program, please check with HR to take the steps they require to allow your donation to have an even greater impact.
Thank you so much for your support!
Warmest Wishes,
Sheri
