Over two days I will be riding 200 miles from Sturbridge to Provincetown alongside my dad and thousands of others to raise money for cancer research. The PMC has since raised $900 million for adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Jimmy Fund. The event donates 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar directly to the cause, generating 64 percent of the Jimmy Fund's annual revenue as Dana-Farber's single largest contributor. Last year the PMC raised 69 million dollars.

During my time at UNC, I was involved with CPALS, a club that matches college students 1 on 1 with pediatric oncology patients. I formed some of the most meaningful relationships through this club. I saw first-hand how a cancer diagnosis not only impacts the patient but also their family, friends and the rest of their support system. I was also fortunate to be involved with cancer research and I know how critical funding is for finding a cure. Each rider pledges to raise a minimum of $6,000.
