Why I Ride ...
I will be riding my sixteenth Pan-Mass Challenge in memory of my dear sister-in-law, Emily Woodward Macy, who lost her battle with cancer in February 2015, at age 51, after a courageous fight that lasted nearly six years. Emily's diagnosis of cancer in 2009 did not stop her irrepressible spirit, strong faith and love of life, which she expressed through her devotion to her husband, three boys, extended family and many friends; her dedication to her work as a teacher; and her tireless efforts mentoring, volunteering and directing shows. Even through the many dark hours of exhausting and painful medical treatment, Emily maintained her grace, dignity and positive attitude declaring that there are No bad days, just bad moments. I ask that you please join me in the fight against cancer, in memory of Emily and so many others who have been taken by cancer, and in support of those who continue to battle cancer, by making a donation to the PMC for the Dana- Farber Cancer Institute's Jimmy Fund. My goal this year is to raise at least $15,000 for the Jimmy Fund. Through a dedicated effort to raise the necessary funding for cancer research, of which the PMC is such an important part, hopefully a cure for cancer will be found in our lifetimes.
Thank you.
