Why I Ride ...
I am a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading the charge to beat cancer. 100% of rider-raised revenue goes directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure.
This is my tenth year as a rider! Once again, I am dedicating this year's ride to my dad, Eddie who lost his battle with cancer on 12/28/14. His warm smile, optimism, courage and fight will be with me as the miles pass. I hope that one day my children with look to me to provide the same strength and inspiration that my dad did for me.
As many of you know, my dad and I were very close. He volunteered thousands of hours coaching baseball and as an assistant scout master. He taught me about hard work, home improvement, financial management and how important vacations are to family and recharging your mental batteries. We enjoyed a good bottle of wine coupled with healthy conversation and a roaring fire. Those cherished moments will be with me forever and I appreciate how lucky I am to have them.
With each passing year, our family and friends continue to battle this relentless disease. For our cancer survivors, those in the fight, and those that we have lost...we ride. For Andy Courville, my little league baseball coach and my dad's buddy who lost his battle on 6/22/17. For Mom (Cynthia Lataille) who is in the fight. For Mom (Dot) Pedneault, Sandy Chomick, Collete Fortin, LInda McFarland, Maura O'Connor, Wayne King and Tracy Lombardo who are all cancer SURVIVORS!
All of the work we do really does have a positive impact on the lives of so many. With every dollar raised we are truly 'closer by the mile'.
Thank you so much for your continued support!
