Dear Friends:
This summer, I'm riding my 10th Pan Mass Challenge (“PMC”) - a milestone that fills me with joy, purpose, and especially hope.
I ride because cancer is a scary disease. It doesn't play fair, and the same treatment(s) doesn't work for everyone. I ride because I believe in progress - and I've seen how far we've come. Research is getting more effective every year, and that's because of people like you - the supporters, donors, and community that fuels this mission.
For me, this ride is personal. It's my way of giving back - for putting into action one of my God-given gifts: the ability to push myself physcially and use my riding skills for something greater than myself. I ride for my family, friends, and co-workers and for all of those who someday might hear those dreadful words you have cancer.
The PMC raises more money for charity than any other athletic fundraising event in the country. The PMC raises money for cancer research and 100% of all rider-raised funds are donated to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. It takes all of us to fight and I COULD REALLY USE YOUR HELP!
Riding in the PMC continues to be one of the greatest experiences of my life. Being surrounded by a true spirit of love and energy from fellow riders as well as spectators who line the roads to support us along the way, truly inspires me to keep riding through the aches and pains to help find a cure for this disease. Cancer does not discriminate!!
I belong to the Marshfield Rams Cancer Riding team with representation from the east to west coast and our Team will be riding again in the 45th annual PMC. The PMC holds the promise of helping to eradicate all forms of cancer which affects millions of people every year.
I have committed to raising $10,000. Donations are tax deductible and can be made online at http://www2.pmc.org/profile/SK0205 [donating under my name Sue Kiley or SK0205]. If you prefer to write a check, please make it payable to either: PMC, The Jimmy Fund, or Dana Farber Cancer Institute and mail the check to me at my home address listed below.
For those who continue to support this great cause, I am so grateful. For those considering, I understand you get asked for contributions all the time and while that is fatiguing, it’s not as fatiguing as someone who is battling cancer!
Any contribution you make towards my ride is greatly appreciated. The PMC is a way for us to honor all those currently battling cancer and survivors in remission. Most importantly, we remember and honor those who lost their battle and now shine down upon us from heaven. The PMC is helping the world get closer to a day when no one will have to deal with this scourge.
All the best and most especially good health - I hope you will donate to be a part of our mission.
Blessings and Peace,
Sue
