Dear Friends & Family, June 12, 2025
In six weeks, I will once again have the privilege to ride the Pan Mass Challenge, a two-day 200-mile ride from Sturbridge, MA. to Provincetown, Cape Cod. The Pan Mass Challenge or PMC, is Dana Farber’s largest source of revenue, and last year crossed over the $1-billion-dollar mark raised. As amazing as the PMC is, it is still not without its challenges. The training, the fitness level required to complete it, and the rider commitment to raising a minimum of $6800.00 toward the cause. At age 62, with over 15 years of involvement and 10 years riding the full 200-mile ride, it seems appropriate and the right time for this to be my final PMC ride. It has been an amazing experience, and I am both excited & blessed to be able to give it one more go.
As always, I will be riding for all of us that have been adversely impacted by cancer, and especially with immense gratitude for the support & recovery of our family’s youngest survivor, 11-year-old Colton. For the last several years we have learned on a very personal level the impact that Dana Farber can have, as Colton continues to fight through the effects of cancer treatment towards full recovery. Additionally, I will be riding in support of my God daughter Carly, as she currently undergoes treatment at Dana Farber towards a third remission and a stem cell transplant. The PMC has indeed become very personal, so please consider a donation and know that your generosity is making a real difference.
The easiest way to contribute is online: www.pmc.org/sj0065 Or if you prefer, a check made payable to PMC and mailed to Scott Johnston @ 1138 Oldfield Road, Fairfield CT. 06824. Also, if your company participates in a matching program, please let me know and I would be happy to assist with additional details.
Please know that any contribution is impactful & most appreciated. I remain committed to riding purposefully for Colton, Carly and all of us that have been impacted by cancer. As the PMC echo’s “We are getting closer by the mile” May God continue to bless all of you and your family’s.
All the best,
Scotty J-
