Reimaging my ride this year...although this year I will not be riding PMC weekend I will still be raising lifesaving funds. The need is greater than before.
This year on PMC weekend I will be doing my own ride as part of IM Ottawa and then running a marathon afterwards. I will miss being with my PMC teammates and riding from Sturbridge one last time but this cause is so important to me I still wanted to participate as a virtual rider and volunteer.
This year I celebrate 22 years since my own cancer diagnosis, once I was back I couldn't imagine not riding being around 1000's of riders and volunteers all focused on a singe objective is incrediblty inspirational. Curing Cancer.
I am active, healthy and thriving today due to the amazing treatment from my doctor at DFCI and the groundbreaking research that the funds raised through the PMC has enabled over the years.
Many of us our touched by cancer whether it be ourselves, friends or family. We have made a lot progress over the years but there is still a long way to go in order to have amazing outcomes for all, and hopefully someday a cure.
I ride because I am LIVING PROOF that the contributions made do make a difference. I ride for all the survivors I know as well as in memory for those who have lost there battle.
This year due to funding cuts at the NCI and other places the need is greater than effort, please consider a donation so we can continue with the progress on our quest for a cure.
Thanks, Sharon
