2024….Year 8!!! Once again, I have committed to ride 85 miles from Wellesley to Buzzards bay on August 3rd. I am so honored to continue to ride as part of team Flames. A remarkable team that includes many Dana Farber doctors, researchers, nurses, patients and survivors-committed to the PMC mission of raising money to save lives.
I recently heard the doctors on our team talk about what the dollars raised by the PMC and specifically team Flames have allowed them to accomplish : new treatments and research that would not be possible otherwise. They are developing more targeted and focused treatments that are more easily tolerated. Treatments that are saving lives. Donations are making a difference!
Each year, I have adorned my jersey with tributes to my husband David, my Dad, my mother, my mother in law “Ma” and countless family and friends who have battled, or continue to fight against cancer. Each year the list gets longer and space on the jersey dwindles. They are in my thoughts as I train and ride each year. I ride for all of them- for their treatment teams, for a cure.
Your donations have allowed me to raise over $56,000! I am asking for your support once again, to help me reach my personal goal of raising $10,000 this year.
One hundred percent of rider-raised funds go directly to Dana Farber. Team Flames funds are directed to the Leukemia and Lymphoma, as well as Adult oncology departments.
I will be riding with the names of those I wish to honor on my jersey. Please allow me to add those you wish to pay tribute to as well.
I appreciate your support of my ride and this worthy cause.
Sue
