Why I Ride ...
This is my 18th year riding in the Pan Mass Challenge and this year there a complete ride like pre-Covid days. The global pandemic is still with us but our cause and fundraising is continuing to push forward. We will all still ride for the cause and the funds so needed for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
I started riding in honor of my Dad who passed away from cancer 34 years ago at the age of 59. I also was inspired to ride after a childhood friend died at the age of 43 leaving a wife and 3 children.T Recently a couple of my hockey buddies have had to undergo treatment with one of them just starting his fight.
There are many others who I have known who have survived cancer and I ride in tribute them and in honor of others who did not survive.
As we all know this past year has been different for all of us. Cancer is not taking time off for the pandemic or anything else and neither is the team of doctors and researchers at the Dana Farber. The need for funding cancer research and treatment is still there.
I will again have the company of my wife, Cathy who will be riding her 4th PMC after volunteering for 10 plus years.
I have made a personal commitment to raise $9,500 and I hope you can help me reach this important goal. 100% of every dollar donated goes to the Dana Farber cancer Institute.
