The Pan Mass Challenge is an organized bike ride across Massachusetts to raise money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute to prevent cancer, find a cure, and stop the tragic loss of life caused by this terrible disease. I'm honored to participate on August 3rd and 4th by riding 186 miles in this year’s Challenge.
This will be my third year riding in memory of my two dear friends Karen and Jim O’Brien, who both lost battles with cancer during the prime of their lives. Karen died of breast cancer at the young age of 55. Jim succumbed to pancreatic cancer just days before his 65th birthday. They left behind two wonderful and loving sons, Patrick and Justin. Kathy and I first met Karen and Jim in the early 1980s and were always impressed with the incredibly positive energy that they brought into the world. They are both missed dearly.
2024 is a milestone year for the PMC as we will surpass 1 billion dollars raised towards cancer research since its inception in 1980. Last year alone, the Challenge raised over $72 million. 100% of money donated goes directly to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
Please help me honor my friends and support this important cause by reaching my fundraising goal of $6,000. Any contribution, small or large, makes a difference to the lives of everyone touched by this terrible disease.
You may donate through the links on the left of this page. If you prefer to write a check, please make it out to the PMC, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and mail it to me directly at: Scott Colwell, 101 Crockett Road, Milford, MA 01757
Thank you for your support of this important cause. Every donation brings us closer by the mile to finding a cure.
Together, we can make a difference.
