I have the privilege to again ride 188 miles, with Team Havin' A Ball, in my 6th Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) and do so for many reasons:
• In memory of my Dad, Paul Conley, and my Aunt, Carol Fitzgerald, who both passed away from pancreatic cancer
• To raise money in the continued fight, and ultimate cure, against pediatric cancer for so many families who have received the words “your child has cancer”
• In honor of many close family and friends, who have fought and continue to fight this terrible disease while living a fulfilling life
Through the generous support of friends and family I have been able to raise over $25,000 for this fantastic cause over the past 5 years!
A bit more about the PMC - the funds we raise support the innovative work of doctors, nurses, and scientists in their search for cures for cancers and related diseases. Dana-Farber is one of the top three cancer institutions in the world, and over the last 10 years, has helped develop nearly one in four FDA-approved cancer drugs in the US.
This year, I have made a personal commitment to raise $6,000 and 100 percent will go directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The PMC's 2024 fundraising goal is $75 million and my fundraising will be part of this gift.
Thank you for your consideration,
Steve
