I am honored and proud to be back on the bike for a seventh year - this time it's 100 miles in a single day.
The ride may still sound like a challenge, but it pales in comparison to the struggles encountered by children and families faced with a pediatric cancer diagnosis. On Sunday August 8th I will be riding - along with my Pedals for Pediatrics teammates - in the hope of making these struggles just a little bit easier.
I have been inspired by those close to my heart who work tirelessly to comfort the patients, provide support to the families, and discover new treatment options. The strength of those facing the realities of pediatric cancer and the compassion and conviction of the medical community behind them is why I ride in the Pan-Mass Challenge.
The PMC is an annual bike-a-thon stretching from Sturbridge to Provincetown, MA. The ride is fueled by one goal - raising money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Children’s Hospital Boston in support of the fight against cancer. I will be riding for Pedals for Pediatrics, and all funds raised by this dedicated team will be allocated to three specific areas: (1) direct financial assistance for families, (2) program support, and (3) pediatric cancer research.
This year we have a goal of $52 million, and I have set a personal goal of raising $3,000. The bar is set high, but I would love for family and friends to share in my support of this incredible cause.
No donation is too big or too small and it will be an honor to ride with your support.
Thank you!
