Why We Ride!
YEAR - 9 2024 is going to be another banner year for miles, smiles and raising awareness for DIPG!
2023 was another awesome year adding almost $200k to the top line and continuing the hard work of our collective team; however it is merely another milestone to be put in the rearview mirror as we continue our work to raise money for Dana Farber Cancer Institute and more specifically, DIPG research.
The preparation, donation coordination and ultimately the ride in August has become one of the defining events of my year and I am honored to be part of the team once again. Evans Crew (http://www.evanscrew.org/home.html), is a team established by friends Tim and Aimee Mandeville to honor and remember their son Evan who was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) - http://www.dana-farber.org/Pediatric-Care/Treatment-and-Support/Diffuse-Pontine-Glioma.aspx - when he was just 11 years old.
I ride for Evan, I ride for his family and friends and most importantly I ride to raise awareness and crucial funding for research into DIPG so that one day a cure for this extremely rare and fatal cancer can be achieved. I ride for the years the team has already dedicated to this cause and many years to come.
