My father, Dr. Parviz Ansari, passed away on July 27, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was a devoted father and husband, and the very definition of a role model. A respected physicist, researcher, and higher education administrator, he was admired not only for his intellect and accomplishments but also for his warmth, humility, and integrity.
Dr. Ansari lived a full and meaningful life, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He bravely battled two rare and aggressive stage 4 cancers. He survived multifocal glioblastoma after his diagnosis in February 2019, and ultimately passed from small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma. His courage, resilience, and spirit never wavered.
Though he is no longer with us, his legacy of love, kindness, and strength will live on in the countless lives he touched.
If you wish, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to support cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where he received outstanding care. We're participating in this year’s ride to help fund the work that gave us more precious time with him.
He will be greatly missed.
