I am proudly riding my first Pan-Mass Challenge – a 200mile, 2-day bike-a-thon that raises money to bring us Closer by the Mile to a cure for cancer.
Nearly all of us have been impacted in one way or another by a loved one who has suffered or passed from the terrible effects of cancer. For me, I dedicate my ride to the three closest family members who have suffered from this disease.
My wife Amy's father, Richard Williamson, passed too early at the age of 63 from the effects of Pancreatic cancer and Amy's mother, Suzi Williamson, overcame the disease, and is now a 30 year survivor. My father Bob Zamboldi, also beat the odds and survived two bouts of cancer.
The research and care made possible through organizations such as the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is what gives hope to those who have to fight this disease. But for many our efforts come too late…let’s keep riding for the benefit of future generations who rely on us to lay the foundation to beat this disease once and for all.
For those who can, I ask for your support in donating to the PMC, where 100% of your donation goes directly to the research that is so vital.
