Why I Ride ...
I am so excited to be able to ride the Pan Mass Challenge for a second year!
Last year was so surreal and emotional! To ride the 186 miles and have people cheering everyone on no matter the time of day. No matter who we passed, everyoe would say Thank you and yet I would always respond back with a Thank you. They kept me going and reminded me why I was riding; to continue providing funds to help beat cancer. I heard so many inspiring patient and family stories last year, and one that stood out to me was a family where one sister had Breast Cancer over 10 years ago and the testing for markers were minimal. Her sister then got diagnosed with Breast Cancer just a few years ago, and thanks to donations and fundraising she was tested for more markers.
Everyone is affected by cancer in one way or another. Through out my life, I have known some OOmazing individuals whom were diagnosed with cancer, some won the battle, and unfortunately some lost. One thing for sure was not one of them ever gave up, complained, or stopped thinking of others. Each and every one of them are inspirations. I would love to live in a world where no one had to fight against cancer, but until then, we can continue to find ways to treat cancer.
Please help me as I do what I can to get closer to ending the fight against cancer. Every dollar raised will go directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure. Thank yOO!
