Dear Friends and Family, 

Thank you all very much for your past donations! I hope you are all well - happy and healthy! 

In 2024, the Pan-Mass Challenge raised $75 million for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute thanks to all of you! The PMC also hit a huge milestone in its 45 year history of raising a lifetime amount of $1 billion. 

Each year, I evaluate whether I should register to ride again. I was thinking that maybe I was getting too old to keep participating. On the ride last year, I switched my phone to airplane mode to conserve the charge. When I got to the second to the last water stop on the first day, my daughter Peyton (who was volunteering) quickly came up to me and asked if I were okay. I said yes and asked why. She said that my other daughter had called and texted her because she couldn’t track me on my phone and was worried about me. Maybe that was a sign that my PMC days were over? I thought about it and the answer was no and I registered.  The training gets a little tougher each year but that is nothing in comparison to the pain that cancer patients endure. 

The PMC is a fantastic organization. Everything from the PMC employees to the volunteers, to the sponsors, to the riders, to the event itself are top notch. The PMC's mission is to raise funds for cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. 100% of every rider-raised dollar goes directly to Dana-Farber.

The  Pan-Mass Challenge traditions will continue in 2025 as we ride as part of Team Lick Cancer:

• In honor and memory of our dear friend, Charlotte O’Shea, who lost her battle with cancer at age six
• In  support of patients in treatment and the families and medical staff who support them
• In support of the mission of the PMC with its commitment to Dana-Farber

This will be my fourteenth year as a PMC rider. My daughter, Peyton, will also be volunteering all weekend.  It has been my absolute privilege to be a part of the PMC and I hope to ride as long as the hips and knees hold out!
