It's time for Lap #26

This morning I registered for the 2025 Pan Mass Challenge.

On August 2, with thousands of others, I will ride my bicycle 110 miles from Sturbridge to Bourne to raising funds for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This will be my 26th year of participation in this event.

The Pan Mass Challenge has raised more than one billion dollars (!) since 1980, resulting in real benefits to grateful cancer patients and their families. Since 1999, my generous sponsors have donated more than $175,000. My 2025 fundraising goal is $8,000. Fully 100 percent of rider sponsorship dollars go to Dana-Farber.

As Dana-Farber President Edward Benz has said, The PMC has made what we do at Dana-Farber possible. When they write the history of how cancer was conquered, the PMC will be in chapter one. It is a real privilege to be a small part of this effort.

As in earlier years, I will share occasional stories of triumph and woe associated with my training.
